Description of the problem
Today Ukraine is facing a deficit of skilled personnel, whose special knowledge and skills can be used to increase energy efficiency of Ukraine. Therefore Ukrainian educational institutions that train specialists in the field of energy-efficient construction are challenged with an important task to prepare skilled specialists who are ready to implement energy-efficient solutions and are capable of using innovative technologies in design, construction and energy management. School programs specialized in energy efficiency put high emphasis on student involvement in practical work aiming to increase their capacity to observe, criticize, analyze and figure out strategies for building renovation and other innovative decisions in the field of design and construction using the top notch tools in the educational process.
Ways to solve the problem
Specialists of FIATU LLC have provided those first class tools. We worked closely with Pridneprovskaya State Academy of Construction and Architecture and Chernivtsi National University named after Yuriy Fedkovich. As a result we made a strategic diagnostics of energy consumption in university building, in particular, by conducting systematization and comprehensive analysis of energy consumption indicators, identifying the level of energy consumption in buildings and possible energy savings for all types of energy resources.
Results and benefits
Pilot universities practiced learning energy efficiency as opposed to training energy efficiency, were able to benchmark the state of energy efficiency of its buildings, got familiar with their energy efficiency ratings and potential. FIATU LLC imparted knowledge to the students of two technical schools for further development of their strategy for building renovation, the learning process in which students, future designers, energy auditors, building engineers will be involved.
