Problem description
Severodonetsk street lighting was in deplorable state. Some streets were quite dark at night time. Some lamps were broken, others were dark having low glowing efficiency as their lifetime was running out. Most of the streets had energy intensive lamps with a short life term.
All these facts caused enormous energy consumption, high maintenance costs, and growing crime, particularly in areas with bad lighting.
The decision was made to change existing lamps with modern LED lamps, which have higher light output and low energy consumption. New lights were installed on poorly illuminated streets: Donetska, Smetanina, Novikova, Nauki, Mayakovskoho, Vilesova, Hvardyiska avenue and Lykarnyane mystechko. Several problems were solved successfully at once. The consumption of electricity decreased and the operational maintenance costs dropped due to installation of high quality diode lights with more than 50,000 hours of service. In addition the quality of street lighting got better and that is very important for citizens and guests: with brighter lights nights became safer.
Problem description
A positive result of street lighting modernization gave push to addressing other problems. In particular it concerns the pre-school №24: before hot water was supplied by the boiler installed in the kitchen, and it was limited. Thus, the comfort level for children was adversely affected.
Solution to the problem
After installation of heat pump recommended by FIATU, this pre-school received sufficient hot water all year round.
It should be noted that heat pump maintenance costs are insignificant as they are the cost for electricity used for low power pump cycle work.
Problem description
In view of shortage of enrollment opportunities for children the pre-school №43 did not function for a long time.
Solution to the problem
Modern energy saving technologies were also applied in the pre-school №43. The city council in cooperation with «FIATU» LLC decided to start energy upgrade of this pre-school with indoor lighting and electricity system modernization. Electrical wiring was totally changed and the modern diode lights were installed. New lights meet all regulatory lighting requirements for educational buildings and thus created comfortable conditions for children along with the energy saving effect.
