Problem description
Kindergartens and schools, along with hospitals, are the most inadequate facilities in each city in terms of their energy consumption. Secondary schools №1 and №2 and зreschools №6 and №11 in Fastiv were no exception. Leaky old windows, the building envelope that did not meet modern regulatory requirements, dysfunctional ventilation adversely affected not only the level of energy consumption, but also the quality of the internal environment. Low temperatures and insufficient air circulation had a negative impact on people who were staying in buildings during the day.
Ways to problem solving
It is important to correctly plan appropriate steps while making energy efficiency decisions to maximize savings and have a positive impact on improving the indoor comfort. In the case of Fastiv the extensive experience of FIATU LLC specialists in implementing complicated energy-efficient projects came useful and handy. We proposed to reduce energy consumption by improving thermal characteristics of the building envelope including replacement of windows and doors, insulation of walls and the attic. In addition, we offered to install decentralized ventilation systems and individual heating substations with the possibility of automatic regulation of energy consumption according to the building’s needs. As a result of implementing the complex of well thought measures, it was possible to significantly reduce energy consumption while ensuring adequate air exchange. Adjusting heat consumption to the outside temperature and specific building working schedule eliminated excessive energy consumption, which took place at the beginning and end of the heating season. An additional rewarding value of the project are neat and attractive facades. It is pleasant to come back to these buildings every day.
Problem description
When it comes to street lighting, it is worth talking not only about savings but security as well. A high level of electricity consumption caused by the usage of old lamps coupled with the increased level of danger caused by bad lighting is description of the Fastiv street lighting before renovation. Fastiv used mainly old traditional high wattage lamps, which had partially lost their lighting properties over time. As a result, the level of illumination of the city roads was insufficient for safe movement. There was no lighting in some places of the city. An additional and common problem was the frequent failure of old lamps and their significant maintenance costs.
Ways to problem solving
1,067 new sleek LED fixtures were installed to improve the quality of street lighting in Fastiv. These fixtures have high service life and energy efficiency. Significant savings had been achieved as a result of the lighting system modernization. They can be used for new energy efficient projects. More important, with high performance LED road lightning, moving around the city has become safer and more comfortable for drivers and pedestrians. The residents of the city are satisfied. The FIATU LLC specialists had checked the level of illumination from the new lamps and recorded compliance with the regulatory requirements.
