Problem description

The Kramatorsk City hospital №1 and the Centre for primary health care №2 provide a wide range of medical services to population. Surgical, therapeutic and infectious disease departments of the City hospital №1 and the Centre for primary health care №2 were built during the Second World War.

These buildings receive hot water only during the heating season. However skyrocketing tariff on heat energy in 2015 jeopardized uninterrupted supply of hot water in winter as well.

Solution to the problem

“FIATU” specialists searched for solution. We were concerned about energy costs and environment and suggested installation of heat pumps to prepare hot water all year round at decreased costs to hospital and minimum damage to environment.

Problem description

In addition, the external lighting of the Hospital #1 area did not function causing not only inconvenience for patients and medical staff but repeated accidents.

Solution to the problem

“FIATU” included the upgrade of the outdoor lighting system in the project to make the hospital area safe and aesthetically pleasant..

Problem description

Children’s Clinical Hospital accepts young patients from all over the Donetsk region. It continued to function not being in a good state. Drafts let through old wooden windows were constant ward residents. Hospital staff tried to eliminate them by gluing windows up with paper and a scotch tape, but this did not really help. The entrance doors on the ground floor served more as protection shield from robbers at night, rather than to prevent heat energy loss.

Solution to the problem

Cooperation between the city and “FIATU” on energy saving project implementation was fruitful: all old windows and doors in the in-patient department of the Children’s Clinical Hospital were replaced with new energy-saving ones. Works were completed quickly and to a good quality. Importantly, the medical facility continued to provide medical assistance to patients while construction works were in progress. When the works were finished, the head of the department of pathology of newborns said: “Energy saving means care about future generation for us”.
